The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust today
Following its foundation in 1787, today the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust is officially recognised by Ofsted as a leading provider of education and care for young people with physical disabilities in the UK.
The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust continues to respond to the changing needs of these young people and today has developed a deserved reputation for high levels of expertise in delivering education and holistic care.
The increasing demands placed upon the Trust as a leading provider of specialist education, therapy and care has inspired it to develop education and care for young people aged 19 and over.
This is a much needed solution to combat the trauma experienced by young people, parents and staff when a young person has to leave the secure and happy environment of the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust to go onto an environment that might not be able to provide the appropriate levels of care, love and stimulation.
The multi-disciplinary team at Dame Hannahs delivers specialist education and care through:
- a residential and day school for students and younger children aged 5 - 16
- a Further Education department where 16 - 19 year olds enjoy increasing amounts of freedom
- a Specialist 19+ Unit created to help our young people to develop their communication and life-skills within an adult environment.
- a state of the art respite unit providing vitally needed respite care for young people and their families both from the immediate locality and nationally
All of the students and young people using our services have physical disabilities with many having complex medical conditions and communication needs.
