Pam started as a volunteer in the Ivybridge shop in 1989 and took over as manager in 1994. She has lived in the same house in Ivybridge, just round the corner from Dame Hannah's, for twenty five years. She originally moved to Ivybridge when her husband retired from the forces and moved to a job with British Aerospace in Plymouth.
Pam said "I couldnt have run the shop without John as he has done all the testing on the electrical goods and has humped all the stock to and from our store room at Dame Hannah's. I also have fond memories of Norah Newberry, who worked for Dame Hannah's for fifty years, and with whom I worked closely and became good friends".
Dame Hannahs fundraiser Paul Courtney said "Pam's dedication as a volunteer for the last 21 years is simply phenomenal! Everyone here at Dame Hannah's is enormously grateful to her and John. She will be missed by everyone at school and in particular her wonderful team of volunteers in the shop."
Pam is now looking forward to seeing more of her family and spending more time on her hobbies which include crocheting, reading and solving crosswords.
