African day at Dame Hannah's
African fever hit Dame Hannah's this week when the Zamble African Dance Company thrilled the young people with their music and art. Zamble Gaspard and Kojo Darko spent the morning playing music and telling stories from their native
Zamble and Kojo are both from West Africa but moved to England in 1992. They live in London where they set up the Zamble African Dance Company. Now they travel around the country visiting schools and running African workshops involving dance, music, storytelling and clay modelling.
Head Teacher Brian Carlyon said "We all had a fantastic time enjoying the African music and the children certainly got stuck into the clay modelling. Zamble and Kojo were brilliant with the children and gave us a memorable day".
