DAME HANNAH'S SUPPORTER NICK GETS RUNNING!

Nick Richardson from Englefield Green in

On 14th March Nick will be taking part in the Silverstone Half Marathon and will be raising funds for the young people at Dame Hannah's. He first heard about Sarah and the Dame Hannah Trust when he started working with Sarah's mother five years ago and heard many inspiring stories about Sarah and her friends.

As he prepares for the longest run of his life Nick said "This is my first half marathon although I have some practice in breaking through pain barriers as I once ran up and down Snowdon as part of the Three Peaks Challenge. I started out thinking that it wouldn't be that tough but I can say now without hesitation that it is. Im very much looking forward to supporting the young people of Dame Hannahs if only in my small way".

He continued "It is appalling that there is such a scandalous shortage of young adult provision nationally. It is heartbreaking to know that these youngsters have battled against unimaginable odds and can leave school and end up in old peoples' homes.  Funds I raise will go to completing the bungalow project at Hannahwood which will then be able to offer many youngsters like Sarah the chance to access a decent quality of life".
