Run with us and help us buy a bus!

Dame Hannah`s fundraiser th May 2010.

As a new dad, Paul is juggling training with changing nappies, whilst keen Argyle supporter James has temporarily replaced his football boots with running shoes. They are both planning to raise money for a new and much needed minibus for the young people at Dame Hannah`s - and are looking for more runners to join them!

You don`t even have to be an experienced athlete to take part, there are half marathon entrants of all levels from the beginner to the seasoned regular. There is also lots of help on offer - for all your training, nutrition and medical advice visit the Plymouth Half Marathon website www.plymouthhalfmarathon.co.uk.

The popular marathon attracts 5,000 runners each year and raises thousands of pounds for local charities. Hoards of eager crowds line the city streets to watch runners go by and celebrate their achievements of passing the finish line. The 13.1 mile event attracts a variety of runners who all have their personal reasons for taking part, whether for fun and getting dressed up, to get fit or in memory of a special person.

Paul Courtney of Dame Hannah`s, said: "The snow has long gone and spring is on its way so it is the perfect time to start training and get out in the fresh air! I am going on my first training run this week so don’t think it’s too late to take on the challenge! Each year many staff and supporters run to raise money for our inspirational young people, all of which allows us to continue our vital, life transforming work."

If you want to join James, Paul and 5,000 other runners in this year's Plymouth Half Marathon you can apply for an exclusive Dame Hannah's Gold Bond place by emailing
