Brian Carlyon

Head Teacher

Following his teacher training in South Wales, Brian obtained a post teaching Religious Education at a boy`s comprehensive school before moving into residential and special education at Craig Y Parc School for Children with Cerebral Palsy, where he had his own class as well as being responsible for the development IT and sports.

In 1983 Brian took on the role of Head of Further Education at Dame Hannahs with responsibility for sports, religious education and IT. As the Trust broadened its provision, he also set up Outreach provision for Torbay Local Authority, which has been running successfully for over 3 years.

Brian took on the role of Head Teacher in the summer of 2009 and finds his challenging role incredibly worthwhile. "I always look forward to working with the students and staff in what is a most educationally stimulating and caring environment."
